Braskem, the largest petrochemical company in the Americas, is advancing in another partnership with customers by approving and supplying the new Polypropylene (PP) resin to Dart do Brasil, a manufacturer for the Tupperware® brand. The RP 340R polymer is part of the Maxio® line and offers greater fluidity and efficiency, as well as environmental gains, generating results such as increased productivity and reduced energy costs.
With technical follow-up and a focus on customer demands, Braskem seeks opportunities to offer more efficient resins. "The change allowed an increase of over 10% in the production cycle and a reduction in energy consumption that exceeded 7%, significantly increasing the customer's competitiveness without the need for an investment in new injection equipment," said Arinaldo Zanotta, Application Engineer at Braskem.
The use of the Maxio® resin has been applied to approximately 80% of the Dart product line, which has more than 40 injectors in its manufacturing park in Rio de Janeiro. The company approved the resin in tests at the Tupperware Technology Center in Belgium, which allowed its approval in Brazil and Europe, enabling its global use. "This is a big step. With this approval, we can market the resin to all Tupperware units worldwide," said Jefferson Bravo, Account Manager at Braskem.
In addition to serving one of Braskem's main pillars for growth, i.e., innovation, the Maxio® label highlights eco-efficient resins in the petrochemical portfolio that provide customers with reduced energy consumption, greater productivity in the production process, and reduction of final product weight, ensuring greater efficiency and, subsequently, environmental gains. The benefits are obtained thanks to the continuous evolution of the resins, preserving or improving the mechanical, chemical and optical properties of the finished products.
