Corporate Governance

The practice of Corporate Governance at Braskem is based on three points: ethics, transparency, and respect for Customers, Members, Shareholders, Suppliers, and all other stakeholders with which the Company relates. Since its founding in 2002, the Company has reaffirmed its commitment to aligning the interests of its Shareholders with ethical and competitive actions while adding value to its assets.

In its capacity as a Publicly-Held Company, Braskem has participated in the Level 1 Corporate Governance of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (BM&FBovespa) since 2003. Outside of Brazil, Braskem’s shares are also listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Latibex – the Latin American section of the Madrid Stock Exchange – and are, therefore, subject to the requirements of the respective regulatory agencies, namely, the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), in the United States, and Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME), in Spain.

Braskem was one of the first Foreign Private Issuers (FPI) in South America to meet, in 2005, the requirements of Sections 404 and 302 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
